1. Client-Side Image & Measurement Processing

When you use our virtual protractor or upload images (such as homework diagrams, blueprints, or workshop photography), those files are parsed exclusively inside your device's web browser using client-side JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API.

• No Cloud Storage: Images and photos are never uploaded to our servers or any cloud infrastructure.
• No Machine Learning Ingestion: Your files are never stored, indexed, or utilized for artificial intelligence model training.
• Memory Lifetime: When you refresh or close the browser tab, all loaded image memory is immediately purged by your browser's garbage collector.

2. Camera Stream Permissions

Our tool allows you to measure real-world objects using your device's webcam or smartphone camera via the standard browser MediaDevices.getUserMedia() API.

Camera permission is strictly opt-in and requested only when you tap the "Take Photo / Camera" button. The live video feed is streamed directly into an in-memory video element and drawn onto the local canvas. No video streams or photos are transmitted across the internet.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

My Online Protractor does not use advertising cookies, third-party profiling cookies, or tracking beacons.

We use browser localStorage solely to remember your chosen theme preference (Dark Mode or Light Mode) between sessions. This preference contains no identifiable personal data and is stored entirely on your computer.

4. Server Logs & Web Infrastructure

Like virtually all standard web servers and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), our hosting infrastructure may record standard non-identifying HTTP request logs (such as IP address, browser type, referral page, and timestamp) strictly for firewall protection, DDoS defense, and infrastructure health monitoring. These operational logs are never linked to individual profiles or sold to data brokers.

5. Student Privacy & COPPA Compliance

Because My Online Protractor is frequently used in K-12 and university mathematics classrooms, student privacy is paramount. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and FERPA guidelines by never soliciting, collecting, or retaining personal information from students of any age.

6. GDPR & California Consumer Privacy (CCPA) Rights

Under GDPR (EU) and CCPA/CPRA (California), users have the right to access, delete, or limit the processing of personal data. Because we do not collect, store, or sell personal identifiers or user databases, there is no personal profile or data footprint to disclose or erase. If you submit a contact inquiry via email, you may request the deletion of your correspondence at any time.
